Police calls as of noon Friday, Dec. 27 from the Lima Police Department:
500 block of South Pine Street, Lima — Officers conducted a traffic stop on a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix because the registered owner was under suspension. The owner, a 34-year-old man, was arrested for drug possession during the traffic stop.
200 block of Haller Street, Lima — A 45-year-old woman reported she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend. After she returned home from work, the man came up to her and struck her in the head and body at least 10 times. after she fell to the ground, he kicked her in the head at least twice, she said. He then grabbed her by the hair and slammed her head into various items. After receiving treatment at St. Rita’s Medical Center, the woman was diagnosed with a head injury and contusions of the scalp, orbital tissue and chest wall. She has a chipped tooth, broken crown and partial hearing loss in her left ear. The ex-boyfriend also broke her laptop computer.
1700 block of East Elm Street, Lima — A 68-year-old man reported someone attempted to force entry into his garage.
