Wapakoneta Summer Moon Festival promises to be a blast

WAPAKONETA — The 2022 Summer Moon Festival will feature live music, games, a fishing tournament, a fun run, and much more starting at 8 a.m. July 12 and running through July 17.

Tuesday’s lineup includes the festival kickoff event. On Wednesday, senior bingo will be held at the Eagles and the Miss Summer Moon Pageant will be held at the WHS Performing Arts Center.

On Thursday, the downtown festival opens, followed by bed races, a performance by The Shifferly Road Band and the first day of a beer stein holding contest. Friday’s events begin with a car show, followed by Moon Market, live music, a corn hole tournament, and the second day of a beer stein holding contest.

The weekend kicks off Saturday morning with a 5K Run to the Moon event, a fishing derby, a river paddle battle, an antique tractor show, the third day of beer stein holding competitions as well as events at the Armstrong Museum. Sunday’s events include a YMCA bike tour, Armstrong Museum activities and the Lima Area Concert Band.
