LIMA — The Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities Project SEARCH will be holding an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 14 at the St. Rita’s Medical Center Auxiliary Conference Room, 718 W. Market St.
The high school transition program is a unique, business led, one-year school-to-work program that takes place entirely at the workplace. Total workplace immersion facilitates a seamless combination of classroom instruction, career exploration, and hands-on training through work site rotations.
The event is free and open to anyone who is interested in the Project SEARCH program.
Project SEARCH is a collaboration with the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities, St. Rita’s Medical Center, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, and Vocational Rehabilitation Contract Services.
Project SEARCH provides internships for graduating seniors with disabilities, résumé building and job skills and opportunities for competitive community employment.
