Super Bowl corned beef lunch available

A corned beef lunch will be available for pick up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Feb. 1 at Temple Beth Israel-Shaare Zedek, 2105 Lakewood Ave. The lunches will also be available for delivery or pickup to area businesses that have pre-ordered and pre-paid for a minimum of eight lunches between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Feb. 2. The lunches consist of a one-fourth pound kosher corned beef sandwich on Jewish rye bread, dill pickle, potato salad, sauerkraut, mustard and a brownie and costs $8.75 per meal. To order, checks should be made payable to Temple Sisterhood, indicating how many lunches are being ordered. Include your name, complete address and phone number. Checks can be sent or dropped off at 1530 Fairway Drive or dropped off at Rite Aid Pharmacy, 3710 Shawnee Road in care of Nancy Mayerson. Orders need to be received by Jan. 28. Local woman to be ordained

Bishop Marcus Lohrmann will confer the Rite of Ordination on Emily Trubey-Weller at 2 p.m. Jan. 31 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 5050 St. Matthews Drive. Trubey-Weller, a graduate of Shawnee High School, will be ordained as a pastor into the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. This will be the first time St. Matthew Lutheran Church has held an ordination, and the service will also include a procession of clergy and special music. For details, call 419-999-5329.

Concert and retreat planned

Worship music composer and speaker Dan Shutte will be giving a concert at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 331 E. Second St., and leading a retreat titled, “Walking the Sacred Path,” from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the All Saints Building, 400 E. First St. Admission is free; an offering will be taken.
