BMV program wastes money

It was said in an article that the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles proof of insurance program had a cost of $550,000 a year.

If you do the math, in postage alone it’s more like $331,344 a year considering the cost to mail the notice and the cost to mail it back.

I have won this lottery for the third time. Shouldn’t the insurance companies be picking up the cost of this program being they have the most to benefit from it?

Seems like it would be more cost-effective if you had to show proof of insurance when you renewed your plates.
