LIMA — Prices continue to climb at the pump, as they are up about 7 cents higher than last week in Lima.

On Monday morning, prices hovered around an average of $2.32 per gallon in Lima, according to prices reported by GasBuddy.com. Those prices are down about 2 cents from Sunday, but up 12 cents from last month.

Prices are still better than the city and state saw last year, however, about $1.20 better in Lima and Ohio.

Ohio price changes seemed to almost mirror Lima’s price changes, as prices are up about 5 cents since last week and up 9 cents from last month’s average, according to GasBuddy.com.

“One thing seems constant in this world aside from death and taxes, and that’s gas price fluctuations,” according to a statement from Patrick DeHaan, GasBuddy senior petroleum analyst. “Though last week, many areas didn’t see much fluctuation, there certainly were some outliers last week, as there almost always tend to be week after week.”

Prices in local counties stayed around the same range as each other, usually hovering around $2.30 per gallon on average.

“I’d say there still could be some unexpected surprises at the pump in the weeks ahead,” DeHaan said in the statement.

Auglaize County had the lowest average price at the pump at $2.30 per gallon, followed by Hardin County ($2.31 per gallon), Allen County ($2.32), Putnam and Hancock counties ($2.36) and then Mercer and Van Wert counties ($2.39).
