Two finish first for ONU at OAC track meet

BEREA — Senior Josh Colbert won the long jump and junior Nate Rosenbaum captured the 10,000-meter run to lead the Ohio Northern men’s outdoor track & field team at the OAC Championships on Friday evening at Finnie Stadium on the campus of Baldwin Wallace.

The Polar Bears sit in third place after the first day of competition, with 38 points.

Mount Union is in first place with 73 points, John Carroll is second with 43 points and ONU is third.

Colbert posted a leap of 7.07 meters (23-feet, 2 1/2 inches) on his final jump to capture the long jump.

Rosenbaum used a late surge to pull away on the final lap in the 10,000-meter run, crossing the finish line in 31:45.94.

ONU women’s track

BEREA — The Ohio Northern women’s outdoor track & field team sits in sixth place after Day 1 of the OAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

ONU has 16 points after the first day of events.

Baldwin Wallace leads the meet with 50 points, Mount Union is second with 48 points and Otterbein is third with 36 points.

No Limaland racing

Due to rain showers, Limaland Motorsports Park canceled the Spring Fling scheduled for Friday. Limaland will return to racing action May 2 with the Modified Mayhem.
