Wapak ends Defiance WBL win streak

DEFIANCE — Wapakoneta snapped Defiance’s 72-game Western Buckeye League regular season baseball streak with a 4-2 victory Tuesday.

Chace Culver was the winning pitcher, allowing no earned runs, four hits and three walks while striking out four. Teammate Adam Henderson had three hits, including a home run, and an RBI. Quinn Lotridge had a hit and two RBIs and Chandler Kaeck had a hit and an RBI also for the Redskins.

Perry 4, Lehman Catholic 0

PERRY TOWNSHIP — Alan Ogle (4-2) got the victory and Corey Smith had two hits and two RBIs for Perry. The Commodores improved to 9-6 overall and 6-1 in the Northwest Central Conference. Lehman Catholic fell to 13-2 overall and 8-1 in the NWCC.

Bath 3, Van Wert 2

VAN WERT — Winning pitcher Eric Jordan had eight strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings, had four hits, including a double, and knocked in the winning run. Teammate Cam Jenkins doubled as did Van Wert’s Brant Henry and Tyler Williams.

Ottawa-Glandorf 1, Kenton 0

KENTON — Matt Warnecke allowed three hits and no walks while striking out three in seven innings.

Temple Christian 2

WAYNESFIELD — Lake Turner got the victory.

Findlay 11, Lima Senior 1

FINDLAY — Mike Holobaugh had Lima Senior’s lone hit.


SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — The Shawnee-Elida WBL matchup was rained out. No makeup date has been announced.

Game suspended

DELPHOS — The Bluffton at Delphos Jefferson game was suspended in the middle of the fourth inning with Bluffton leading 5-1. Play will resume at a date yet to be determined.

BATH TOWNSHIP — Kimmy Reynolds improved to 13-1 on the season, striking out nine. Teammates Jenna Hollar and

Alyssa Manley had two hits each.

GLANDORF — Winning pitcher Megan Kitchen (8-2) had 10 strikeouts while allowing four hits and one walk.

Ottawa-Glandorf 4, Kenton 1

OTTAWA — The Ottawa-Glandorf doubles team of Derek Maag and Caleb Liebrecht only lost one game in their victory.

Shawnee 4, Elida 1

ELIDA — Singles players Jason Barton and Avanash Rajasakarian did not lose any games in their victories. The doubles team of Drew Sarno and Tyler Mikesell won for Elida.

Spencerville tri-meet

SPENCERVILLE — The Spencerville boys and girls won team championships in a meet against Delphos St. John’s and Perry. The Bearcats’ Trevor McMichael won the 400 meter dash, the high jump and the long jump and teammate Anthony Schuh won the 110 and 300 hurdles. Spencerville’s Schylar Miller won the pole vault and long jump.

Elida tri meet

ELIDA — The Defiance boys and girls were the team winners in the storm-shortened event. Aubrey Williams won the high jump and Tori Bowen won the pole vault for Elida. Taylor Gillfillan won the 100 and 300 hurdles for Kenton. Elida’s Clark Etzler won the 100 and 400 meter dashes.

Van Wert County

CONVOY — The Van Wert boys and girls won the team county championships against Lincolnview and Crestview.

Bluffton tri meet

BLUFFTON — The Bluffton boys and girls were team winners against Ada and Fort Jennings.

Columbus Grove tri meet

COLUMBUS GROVE — The Columbus Grove boys and the Ottawa-Glandorf girls were team winners in a meet that also included Liberty Benton.
