SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Shawnee used an outstanding defensive effort and two big plays to take a 27-13 lead over St. Marys after three quarters of action Friday night when play was halted by lightening.

The first big play was Angelo Fox going 81 yards to pay-dirt for the Indians late in the second quarter. Senior linebacker Zach Kaplan returned a Roughriders fumble 58 yards for a score that put Shawnee up 27-6 before St. Marys scored just before the end of the third period to pull to with-in 27-13.

The game was halted at that point and will resume at 1 p.m. today.
