ELIDA — 1992 was the 25th anniversary of the Camaro, as well as the last year for the third generation Camaro, which was introduced in 1982. There were 8,197 Chevy Camaro’s made in 1992. All 1992 Camaros received a 25th Anniversary badge on the dashboard. This was also the last year of production at the assembly plant in Van Nuys, CA. Marketing executives were busy marketing the 1992 Chevy Camaro as “Hotter than Texas chili;” “Fast sounds in a fast ride, oh my my;” and “…down on Main Street, Chevy Camaro is still USA1.”

Nathan Haase, of Elida, brought his 1992 Chevy Camaro to The Lima News’ Real Wheels Cruise-In. He has owned it for five years. He bought it with his dad when he was a junior in high school, and has been working on it ever since. He said his favorite memory is when he was driving down 71 on his way back from Akron, a guy pulled up next to him, gave him a thumbs up and said, “That’s sweet.”
