LIMA — The Country Inn and Suites in Lima changed hands.

Grove City company RK Petroleum Corp. bought the property Nov. 5 from Sunrise Hospitality Inc., according to the Allen County Recorder’s website.

RK Petroleum Owner Naveen Bhandari said the company’s name is misleading, as the company and his family has been in the hotel business for 10 years, though they don’t own other local hotels.

The property, at 804 S. Leonard Ave., is valued at $3.05 million and was built in 2007, according to the Allen County Auditor’s website, and was bought by RK for $3.4 million.

Bhandari said he plans to do renovations of the lobby, some rooms and overall upgrades to the building starting early next year.

The new owners are going to “just try to be better at customer service and bring some renovations for guests coming in in the future so they enjoy staying with us,” Bhandari said.

The hotel employs about 15 people and the same employees will continue with the company, Bhandari said.

The name will also stay the same.
