‘American Pickers’ comes to Van Wert

VAN WERT — Van Wert County may once again take the national stage, this time on “American Pickers” when the show’s crew films on the Western Ohio and Eastern Indiana border.

The Van Wert Chamber of Commerce is collecting leads for the show’s producers to follow up on until June 27, said Susan Munroe, the chamber’s president and CEO. The producers will review the leads and then scout any places that seem appropriate for the show.

“It’s a great thing for the community,” Munroe said.

This is the third opportunity Van Wert has had to be on a reality show. Previously, Van Wert has been on “The Vanilla Ice Project” and “Heirs to Dare.”

“American Pickers” is a History Channel reality television show starring Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz. They travel around the country looking for interesting antiques and their owners and their stories.

Those with items such as bicycles, old rodeo items, folk art and many more unique pieces who are interested in being on the show should email their name, phone number and a description of the item or collection to chamber@vanwertchamber.com. One or two photos are optional.

A complete list of items is available at http://vanwertchamber.com.
