Five injured in Alger crash

ALGER - Five people were injured in a crash over the weekend.

Angela Roby, 41, of Ada, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Lima Memorial Health System, the Findlay Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.

Robert T. Stevens, 68, of Lima, and Marion Gross Jr., 72, of Alger, both suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken by ambulance to Lima Memorial Health System. Tammy Elwood, 49, of Ada, and Stacey Gross, 47, of Grove City, both received non-life threatening injuries and were taken to LMH by family members, the patrol reported.

Roby, Stacey Gross and Eldwood were passengers in the car driven by Marion Gross Jr. Timothy Gross, 51, of Grove City, was a passenger in the car, too, and he was not injured, the patrol reported.

The crash happened at 5:33 p.m. Friday when Stevens was westbound on Shadley Street. Marion Gross Jr. was driving southbound on Front Street. Stevens failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with the other vehicle, the patrol reported.

The crash remains under investigation. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, the patrol reported.
