Election Day dinners available

LIMA — No one should go to the polls on an empty stomach. To that end, several area churches and organizations are hosting special meals on Election Day, including:


Election Day Lunch and Dinner

11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Bluffton First United Methodist Church, 116 Church St.

Lunch will include homemade soups for $2, sandwiches for $2, salads for $1, desserts for $1.50 and beverages for $0.50. Dinner is $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. The menu will include baked steak, mashed potatoes, a vegetable, roll, dessert and a beverage. Carryout will be available for both meals.


Election Day Dinner

4 to 7 p.m.

Pure Oil Station, across from Veterans Monument

The LaFayette Jackson Historical Society will have Harlan’s Chicken dinners available for eat in or drive thru. Tickets are $8 per dinner and can be purchased by calling Al Joseph at 419-649-3261 or 419-235-6396.


LACNIP Election Day Chicken Barbecue

11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

LACNIP Resource Center, 1440 W. Spring St.

The dinner will consist of a half chicken or ribs, two sides, a roll and a cookie. Those interested will have the option of drive thru, carryout or delivery for orders of five dinners or more. Dinners are $8 each, with all funds to benefit LACNIP. To order tickets, call 419-302-4166.

Election Day Meal & Trinkets, Treasures and Tempting Treats

10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 1110 N. Metcalf St.

The dinner will include chili soup, ham and bean soup, beef vegetable soup, hot dogs, coney dogs, sloppy joe and chicken sandwiches, cornbread, cookies, a cupcake and drinks. Pricing is a la carte. The event will also feature a bazaar with baked goods, homemade buckeyes, knitted sweaters and items, household goods, gently used holiday items and more. For information, call 419-222-3601.


Election Day Dinner

5 to 7 p.m.

New Hampshire Community Church, 114 E. Market St.

A turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be served. Dessert and beverages are also included. A free will donation will be taken at the door. Carryout is available by calling 419-568-6535.


Pancake and Sausage Dinner

4:30 to 7 p.m.

Ottawa Veterans of Foreign Wars, 212 W. 2nd St.

The dinner will be served by the Ottawa Boy Scout Troop 224. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children.


Election Day Supper

5 to 7 p.m.

Pandora United Methodist Church, 108 W. Washington St.

The menu will include chicken and noodles, beef and noodles, a salad bar, a dessert bar, coffee and punch. Cost is $7 for those 12 and older, $3.50 for children 3 to 11 and free for children under 3. Carryout will be available.


Election Day Dinner

4 to 7 p.m.

Westminster United Methodist Church, 6666 Faulkner Road.

The menu will include baked steak or chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetable, salad, roll, dessert and a drink. A free will offering will be accepted.
