WAPAKONETA — Virginia Kemper Dray Hedrick, of Wapakoneta, celebrated her 90th birthday Aug. 7, 2014. A birthday party was held for her on Aug. 10th, at the Holiday Inn, in Lima with many friends and family in attendance.
She was born in Alliance, OH on Aug. 7, 1924 to John and Mable Kemper. She attended Roundhead School from 1937-1943.
On Sept. 30, 1944, she married Quincy Dray and he is deceased. On May 9, 1964, she married Charles Hedrick, and he died Jan. 10, 1995.
Hedrick has two children, Carol Dray Glasco, of Spencerville and Kenneth Dray, of Pataskala. She has seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She worked in the office of Westinghouse in Lima for 20 1/2 years.
During the winter months, Hedrick went to Florida. She did this for 33 years.
Hedrick has gone on an Alaskan Eastern and Western Carribean Cruise, as well as a seven day Canadian Rackers trip, which she took on her 85th birthday.
She states she is still celebrating.
