LIMA — The Saturn Ion was Saturn’s entry-level car from 2003 to 2007 and was aimed at younger buyers. The additional performance trim Saturn Ion Red Line, was geared toward those buyers who wanted something extra under the hood. The Red Line is powered by a supercharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The Saturn Ion Red Line introduced Saturn to sport compact enthusiasts who were seeking a ready performance vehicle. The name Red Line, came from the upper limit of engine speed, which is marked by a red line on the tachometer.
Cody Rolland, of Lima, brought his 2004 Saturn Ion Red Line to the Charity Car Show last weekend. He has owned it for approximately one year now and is constantly making modifications to his car. He attended the car show with his dad, Clint, who brought his 1989 Pontiac Firebird Formula.
