JOHN P. INGMIRE, 88, died at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4, 2005, at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Bluffton.
He was born Sept. 26, 1917, to Sylvester and Oda Syfert Ingmire. On Oct. 20, 1962, he married Gertrude "Gertie" Edgecomb, who died May 7, 2001.
Mr. Ingmire was a retired backhoe operator for West Ohio Gas Co. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Bluffton. He volunteered at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Bluffton. He traveled the country on a motor bike painting oil portraits. He worked with stained glass and enjoyed playing the harmonica.
Survivors include a son, Gary Fisher of Columbus; three daughters, Carolyn Gilliam of Bluffton, Loretta ( John) Leeson of Bridgeport, W.Va., and Sandra (Ed) Vaske of Delphos; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn Ingmire and Sylvester Ingmire.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton. The Rev. Judith Huber will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
