LOWELL E. RHOADES, 95, died at 8:28 a.m. June 24, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born on Jan. 2, 1911 in Mendon, to Parker and Mattie Wollam Rhoades, who preceded him in death. On Sept. 18, 1938, he married Mabel Reynolds, who died April 28, 1999.

Mr. Rhoades was a stock and securities agent. He was a member of Gomer United Church of Christ. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge #603 in Osgood, Ind., and a member of the Yorkrite, Scottish Rite and Lima Shrine Club.

Survivors include two sons, Larry A. Rhoades of Elida and Duane L. (Pat) Rhoades of Big Rock, Ill.; and five grandchildren, Michael, Stephanie, Chris, Tracey and Michelle.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Carl and Harold Rhoades and three sisters, Lena Harter, Eileen Sweetser and Hazel Rhoades.

Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Chiles and Sons-Laman, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Brian Knoderer will officiate. Burial will be in Pike Run, Gomer.

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where a Masonic Memorial Service will begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, 45229-3095.
