RICHARD A. "AL" ZIMMERMAN, 68, died at 12:40 p.m. Nov. 24, 2004, at Lima Memorial Health System.

He was born Sept. 11, 1936, in Hardin County to Richard R. and Alma Geraldine Smith Zimmerman, who preceded him in death. On Jan. 15, 1956, he married Janis Clum, who survives in Westminster.

Mr. Zimmerman had owned and operated Zimmerman's Market, Westminster, and Zimmerman's Meats, Elida. He had also worked as a meat cutter at Stites Grocery and part-time at Rudolph Foods, Westminster. He attended Auglaize Bible Church, Harrod, and County Line Church of the Brethren, Ada.

Survivors also include four sons, Randall (Jane) Zimmerman of Lima, Byron Zimmerman of Corpus Christi, Texas, Marc (Leslie) Zimmerman of Plain City and Aric (Rachael) Zimmerman of Lima; five grandchildren, Kimberly, Kyle, Madilyn, Andrew and Matthew Zimmerman; and two sisters, Cleola (Charles) Long of Lafayette and Jane (Charles) Coates of Harrod.

He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Wava Zimmerman; and four siblings.

Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at County Line Church of the Brethren, Ada. Pastor David Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Desenburg Cemetery, Lafayette.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
