LEO JOSEPH THOMAS Sr., 84, died at 10:40 a.m. Jan. 4, 2004, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 26, 1920, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, to Paul and Roseline Dinelle Thomas, who preceded him in death. On Feb. 15, 1941, he married Wilma Chunderlink, who died in November 1997.

Mr. Thomas retired from the military after 20 years. He served in the Army Air Forces in World War II and the Air Force in Korea and Vietnam. He then worked as a security guard for the federal government. He was a member of American Legion Post 4 and the Fraternal Order of Police in Michigan.

Survivors include a son, Leo J. (Karen) Thomas Jr. of The Woodlands, Texas; two daughters, Michelle (Chuck) Radloff of Cridersville and Julie (Jesse) Mata of Franklin, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jean (Connie) Thomas of St. Clair Shores, Mich., Robert (Dottie) Thomas of Warren, Mich., and Roland (Eleanor) Thomas of Wyandotte, Mich.; and a sister, Simone (Robert) Krause of Centerline, Mich.

Graveside services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday in Dayton National Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
