HELEN L. LUSK SUMNEY, 78, died at 12:06 p.m. Oct. 30, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 31, 1928, in Lima to Harvey Edwin and Blanche Belle Harrod Lusk, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 26, 1944, she married Norman G. Sumney, who survives.

Mrs. Sumney was a homemaker and a mother. She was a member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54.

Survivors also include two daughters, Cheryl K. Ferguson, of Grand Junction, Colo., and Cathy L. Dula, of Merritt Island, Fla.; a sister, Marilyn (Frank) Sandy, of Lima; five grandchildren, Julia Dula, Andrew Dula, Tadd Ferguson, Douglass Ferguson and Brent Ferguson; three great-grandchildren, Maya Ferguson, Liam Ferguson and Rowan Ferguson; a sister-in-law, Mamie Lusk; two brothers-in-law, Robert Giffin and Cloyne Stauffer; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harvey E. Jr., Harold and Charles F. Lusk; five sisters, Violet Cook, Lois Clemans, Hazel Giffin, Florence Stauffer and Genevieve Lusk.

Services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Eastside Chapel. Brent and Elizabeth Ferguson will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Uniopolis.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
