SERGE ADAM HIGLEY, 77, died at 3 a.m. Dec. 27, 2004, at his residence.

He was born May 29, 1927, in Townwood to Raymond "Ray" and Sylva Wilson Higley, who preceded him in death. On May 15, 1948, he married Mable Mardis, who survives in Ottawa.

Mr. Higley retired in 1989 from Louisiana-Pacific (Weatherseal), Ottawa, after 40 years, and he was well known as an entrepreneur. He was a member of Ottawa Missionary Church. He was a 23-year member of Carpenters Union 1413, where he had served as president. He was also a member of the Pioneer Auto Club, Model A Club and the Mustang Club.

Survivors also include three sons, Raymond "Ray" (Nino) Higley of Hoschton, Ga., Phillip (Bonnie) Higley of Ottawa and Leroy (Pat) Higley of Weston; a daughter, Susan (Henry) Wueller of Auburn, Ind.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alfreda Dillinger of Findlay.

He was preceded in death by a son, Steve Higley; a grandson, Christopher Higley; and 11 siblings.

Services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ottawa Missionary Church. The Rev. Marshall Metzger will officiate. Burial will be in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
