Franz L. "Fuzzy" Fonner, 76, died at 1:15 a.m. June 16, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 13, 1932, in Lima to John Lawrence and Selma Shide Fonner, who preceded him in death. On May 21, 1952, he married Frances J. Billett, who died Dec. 30, 1999. On Sept. 10, 2007, he married Anna F. Burd Moser, who survives.
Mr. Fonner had been an electrician at Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8445 and American Legion Post 330, both in Wapakoneta, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370, Lima. He was a graduate of Lima Central High School. He was an Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War. He enjoyed music and played jazz piano.
Survivors also include two sons, Michael L. (Pamela) Fonner, of Cridersville, and Mark D. Fonner, of Terre Haute, Ind.; a daughter, Missa "Missy" Cornett, of Cridersville; six stepchildren, Nancy (Tom) Staup, Paula (Dan) Burgess and Vickie (James) Mayer, all of Lima, Bruce (Barb) Langle, of Fort Wayne, Ind., David Langle, of Kenton, and Dennis Langle, of Florida; a half sister, Catherine McCall, of Sun Valley, Calif.; a niece, Ruth (Lloyd) Wright, of Sun Valley, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The Rev. Jeanette Rode-Tangeman will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 8445.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
