HERMAN DeWITT PLUMMER, 86, died at 5:45 p.m. May 20, 2006, at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home.

He was born April 10, 1920, in Lima to Thaddeus D. and Ivy Marvel Hester Plummer, who preceded him in death. On June 6, 1986, he married A. Ileene Conley Loudenback, who survives.

Mr. Plummer retired as a railroad conductor in 1982 from Norfolk & Southern Railroad. He was president of Plummer Sales Co. Inc. and vice president of Merle Norman Cosmetics Inc., Lima. He was a member of South Side Christian Church. He was a life member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54 and the United Transportation Union.

Survivors also include two daughters, Connie (Jesse) Porter of Lima and Diana (Lloyd) Singleton of LaPorte, Ind.; a stepson, Gary O. (Judith) Loudenback of Anderson, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Karen A. (Fred O.) Wheeler of Lima; a sister, Roxanne Frank of Lima; and six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

There will be no visitation.
