CORA SPARKS DRAPER, 101, died at 10:35 a.m. March 11, 2005, at Hardin Hills Health Center, Kenton.

She was born Jan. 2, 1904, in Magoffin County, Ky., to James Wesley and Katherine "Katie" Green Bays. Her father preceded her in death when she was only 2 years old. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Jim Hall. On May 19, 1921, in Brainard, Ky., she married Tom Marshall, whom she later divorced. On July 19, 1929, she married Cornelius Sparks Sr., who preceded her in death. On July 24, 1984, she married Dano Draper, who died in 1992.

Mrs. Draper was a homemaker. She was a member of Quickstep Pentecostal Church for more than five decades. She was an avid fisherman throughout her adult life.

Survivors include three children, Katherine "Katie" Cottle of Kenton, Johnie (Maxine) Marshall of Okeechobee, Fla., and Fred (Velma) Sparks of Port Orange, Fla.; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Thelma (Kenny) Stimmel of Alger and Amanda "Mandy" Higgins of Michigan.

She was preceded in death by four children, Rebecca Marshall, Cornelius Jr. and Robert Sparks and Thelma Neeley.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Price Funeral Home, Kenton. Roger Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview-McDonald Cemetery, Kenton.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
