ED BENDROSS, 81, died at 9 p.m. March 12, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center.

He was born March 15, 1924, in Jenkins, Ga., to Ford and Lula Buggs Bendross, who preceded her in death. On June 28, 1955, he married Mary Elizabeth Gordon, who survives in Lima.

Mr. Bendross retired as a truck driver and highway safety crew from the Ohio Department of Transportation. He was a member of AFSCME Local 250.

Survivors also include a son, Carl Bendross of Lima; two daughters, Vicki (James) Glenn and Tammy (Steve) Johnson, both of Lima; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Carene Little of Donaldsonville, Ga.; and close family friends, Yolanda Clemons and Karen Bendross.

He was preceded in death by a son, Maurice Bendross; a sister, Florence Bendross; and a brother, Johnny B. Bendross.

Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Jones-Clark Funeral Home. The Rev. B. LaMont Monford Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
