HAZEL L. CIRA, 95, died at 12:14 a.m. Dec. 2, 2004, at Lima Manor Nursing Home.

She was born Oct. 10, 1909, in Richmond, Ind., to Francis M. and Jessie Marie Kortright Selby, who preceded her in death. On April 3, 1929, at St. Rose Catholic Church, the Rev. R.J. Gabel, joined her in marriage to August P. "Augie" Cira, who died July 24, 1991.

Mrs. Cira was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church. She enjoyed baking and was known as the "Cookie Lady" by many. She also enjoyed making afghans for her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Richard (Joyce) Cira of Lima; two daughters, Agatha R. Folk and Marie J. Murphy, both of Lima; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Cira, Rick Cira, Kathy (Rick) Brisson, Kelly (Bob) Polser, Lisa (Don) Russell, David (Barbara) Cira and Becky Murphy; and 11 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, George Selby; two sisters, Agatha Camp and Dorothy Cox; two sons-in-law, Dick Folk and A. Tom Murphy; two grandchildren, Debbie L. Murphy and Terry R. Murphy; and a great-grandson, Ryan J. Cira.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Gerard Catholic Church. Father George Blasick will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the activity fund at Lima Manor Nursing Home.
