MARILYN MARIE SWANEY CONRAD, 75, died at 10:25 a.m. Sept. 14, 2005, at Auglaize Acres Nursing Home, Wapakoneta.

She was born Sept. 27, 1929, in Lima to Walter M. and Hattie Belle Hefner Swaney, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 19, 1950, she married Edmund C. Conrad, who survives.

Mrs. Conrad was a homemaker. She was a 1947 graduate of Shawnee High School, and enjoyed organizing the class reunions. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, where she was active in the Senior Saints and taught child evangelism, Sunday school class and Bible studies. She was a frontline prayer warrior for Teens for Christ. She loved to travel and enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren. A highlight of her later years was watching her grandson Jimmy play basketball for Ohio Northern University. Next to her love for God, she loved spending time with her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She has now passed from this Earth to be with her heavenly Father.

Survivors also include two sons, James A. (Chris) Conrad and Joseph M. (Roxanne) Conrad, both of Cridersville; two daughters, Sally (James) Scherrer of Hill City, S.D., and Janelle (Rock) Taviano of Cridersville; a sister, Margaret Lotz of Mad River, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Jenny (James) Farler of Lima, Lori (Andrew) Brooks of Cridersville, Jimmy Conrad of Columbus, Mike Conrad of Novi, Mich., Shauna Conrad of Dublin, Erin Conrad of Bowling Green, Gabe (Marla) Taviano of Bellefontaine and Tug (Angie) Taviano of Cridersville; and five great-grandchildren, Savana, Olivia, Ava, Morgan and Reese.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Gerald Swaney; and a sister, Wauneta Swaney.

Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace Baptist Church. The Rev. Matthew Oliver and Tug Taviano will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, near Uniopolis.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
