GLADYS O. CUPPLES, 84, died at 4:45 a.m. April 11, 2006, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.

She was born April 14, 1921, in Hancock County to Columbus and Mildred Stratton Klingler, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 27, 1947, she married Lynn L. Cupples, who died April 24, 1989.

Mrs. Cupples was a farmer's wife and had worked at Triplett Corp., Bluffton. She was a member of Mount Cory United Methodist Church, Mount Cory. She was a member of Hancock County Farm Bureau, Gideon's International and the Bluffton Senior Citizens. She was a volunteer at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Bluffton, and a member of the Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary. She was a 1939 graduate of Bluffton High School.

Survivors include three sons, Robert (Sheila) Cupples of Bluffton, Richard (Linda) Cupples of Mount Cory and Jack (Susan) Cupples of Findlay; a daughter, Jennifer Hartman of Findlay; a brother, Don (Nancy) Klingler of Bluffton; a sister, Jean Ann Powell of Bluffton; a sister-in-law, Joan Scott of Bluffton; and eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a foster brother, James Scott; and a sister, Dorothy Klingler.

Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Bluffton. The Rev. Dana Hakes will officiate. Burial will be in Clymer Cemetery, near Mount Cory.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
