James Junior Flick, 77, of Fairfield, formerly of Lima, died at 9:04 a.m. Jan. 22, 2009, at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield.
He was born Jan. 27, 1931, in Hume to James J. and Rachel Bowsher Flick, who preceded him in death. On May 16, 1954, he married Marilyn Mae Mefferd, who died March 11, 2008.
Mr. Flick retired in 1996 from the Tom Ahl Dealerships, where he had been a technician and control manager. He was a member of Gardendale Church of God. He enjoyed working at the church and woodworking. He spent many hours making wooden pencil holders, which he sold and used the proceeds for missions through the church.
Survivors include two sons, Keith J. (Joy) Flick, of Lima and Kevin D. (Cynthia) Flick, of Fairfield; a daughter, Deborah K. (Craig) Case, of Picayune, Miss.; two brothers, Ervel (Betty) Flick, of Hanes City, Fla., and Jordan (Juanita) Flick, of South Port, N.C.; a sister, Marietta (Tom) Anderson, of Lima; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Flick; a grandson, Brandon S. Flick; and two sisters, Margaret Flick and Louella Burnside.
Private services will be held at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. The Revs. Terry Davy and Gerbert Darlington will officiate. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery.
There will be no public visitation.
