GEORGE MERITT AAB, 81, died at 9:30 p.m. Jan. 7, 2005, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 25, 1923, in Union Township to August and Lodema Cook Aab, who preceded him in death. On April 11, 1956, he married Beatrice A. "Bea" Conrad, who survives.

Mr. Aab was in maintenance at Ford Motor Co. He worked for 18 years as a bus driver for Perry schools and eight years as a bus driver for Lima schools. He was a member of Acadia Lodge 306 Free and Accepted Masons, where he was past master, and Spencerville Chapter 169 Royal Arch Masons.

Survivors also include a daughter, Tina (Steve) Gipson of Lima; a sister, Thelma Brewer of Phoenix; two grandchildren, Sgt. Damon (Dana) Hornung of Kailua, Hawaii, and Justin (Wanda) Hornung of Haverlock, N.C.; and nine stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Aab and Russell Aab; and a sister, Alice Lyle.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Dan Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in St. Matthews Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where a Masonic memorial service will be held at 8 p.m.
