ELEANOR E. RENNER, 85, died at 1 a.m. May 10, 2006, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.
She was born May 9, 1921, in Vaughnsville to Robert J. and Mabel Martha Clevenger Edwards, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 30, 1940, she married Wilbur E. Renner, who died Nov. 6, 1989.
Mrs. Renner was a homemaker and had been a B-4 at Sylvania Corp., Ottawa. She had also been a bookkeeper at Nickles Bakery, Lima, and part owner and bookkeeper for Renner's Union 76, Bluffton. She was a member of the Columbus Grove United Church of Christ, now known as the Columbus Grove Christian Church. She had been a member of the Columbus Grove Garden Club and a member of the Welsh Society of Northwest Ohio. She attended Tech High School, Indianapolis, and was a 1940 graduate of Gomer High School. While attending high school in Indianapolis, she took flying lessons. She liked flower gardening and bird watching.
Survivors include a son, Robert (Sue) Renner of Brookhaven, Miss.; two daughters, Karen (Ronald) Schindler of Cairo and Connie (George) Ricker of Columbus Grove; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Taylor.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Chaplain Bill Herr will officiate. Burial will be in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
