Lima - Jeffrey Allen Burns, 55, died at 3:09 a.m. Oct. 28, 2010, at Lima Memorial Health System.

He was born Aug. 26, 1955, in Lima to Harry and Marjorie Stombaugh Burns. His father died in 1967. His mother survives in Lima. He had been married to Deborah McKnight.

Mr. Burns was a 1973 graduate of Bath High School, a 1975 graduate of Northwestern Auto Mechanics School and a 2003 graduate of Lima Technical College, with degrees in nutrition and activities director. He was named Lima Consumer of the Year in 1998. He was a dialysis patient for five years at Lima Memorial Health System. He had been a diabetic since he was 2 years and 6 months old. He had worked at Connor Olds, Highs Welding, Tamarac Gold Course, the Buckeye Truck Center and retired from Cherokee Hills Golf Course, Bellefontaine. He volunteer for several years at the Lima Elderly Day Care Center. He loved the outdoors, gardening, hunting, fishing and trapping. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns.

Survivors also include two brothers, Danny (Catherine) Burns, of Beeville, Texas, and Scott (Brenda) Burns, of Cridersville; two nephews, Erik Burns, of Seguin, Texas, and Jack Ferrante, of Seaford, N.Y.; a niece, Samantha Ferrante, of Beeville, Texas; and an aunt, Marylou Wells, of Delphos.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Laurence and Gladys Stombaugh and Oliver and Margaret Barnum; and his black lab, Rambo.

Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home. Pastor Thomas Dearth will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
