Imajean I. Mathewson

Bluffton - Imajean I. Mathewson, 78, died at 6:40 p.m. Nov. 11, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.

She was born July 8, 1932, in Putnam County to Albert and Loretta Okuley Klass, who preceded her in death. On June 30, 1951, she married Larry Mathewson, who survives.

Mrs. Mathewson was working at Bluffton schools, where she held several positions over the years. She had worked at Triplett Corp., Bluffton, and Whirlpool Corp., Findlay. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Bluffton, where she was active. She was a member of the farm bureau. She enjoyed spending time with her family, holiday celebrations, traveling, antiquing, gardening, helping her husband with the farm, the outdoors and her friends. She was a 1950 graduate of Bluffton High School.

Survivors include four sons, Dana (Christine) Mathewson, of Whitehouse, David Mathewson, of Powell, Darryl (Brenda) Mathewson, of Defiance, and Don Mathewson, of Swanton; two daughters, Debra Witherell, of Sylvania, and Diana (Michael W.) Kuhar, of Whitehouse; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirleen Wiford, of Sidney.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and William Klass; and a son-in-law, Martin Witherell.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Bluffton. Father Tim Ferris will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Bluffton, where a Scripture service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday.
