Velma T. Tudor, 105, died at 2:50 a.m. Dec. 9, 2010, at Sarah Jane Living Center.
She was born Aug. 28, 1905, in Putnam County to David M. and Pearl Heyd Hunt, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 25, 1935, she married Raymond Williams, who died May 28, 1967. On June 8, 1977, she married Robert Tudor, who died April 21, 1987.
Mrs. Tudor was a homemaker and had been a monitor at Gomer High School, Gomer. She was a member of Gomer United Church of Christ, Gomer, where she was a member of its Young at Heart, the oldest member of its Amity Circle, served as a deaconess and a clerk, and sang in the choir for more than 30 years. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, making noodles and canning.
Survivors include four sons, Paul Davis, of Addison, Ill., Fred Davis, of Gomer, William Williams, of Elida, and Roger Williams, of Yellville, Ark.; two daughters, Marilyn Robey, of Cairo, and Carol Recker, of Lima; a sister, Doris Tobin, of Cridersville; a stepson, Owen (Jocelyn) Tudor, of Columbus Grove; a stepdaughter, Jane Firestone, of Columbus Grove; and 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Williams; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers; four sisters; a son-in-law, Albert Robey; and a sister-in-law, Betty Hunt.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gomer United Church of Christ, Gomer. The Rev. Brian Knoderer will officiate. Burial will be in Pike Run Cemetery, Gomer.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
