Donald D. Moneer, 76 died at 12:20 a.m. May 26, 2010, at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born Friday, July 7, 1933, in Findlay to Raymond and Lena Mae Mosier Moneer Sr., who preceded him in death.
Mr. Moneer had been employed by Oakwood Forensic Center, in Lima, where he retired in 1993 after 35 years of service. He was an Army veteran, having served from June 1953 until May 1955. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275, Lima, and a past member of the Lima Fraternal Order Eagles. Donald loved fishing and spending time with his grandkids.
Survivors include three sons, Darrin Moneer, Douglas Moneer and Jason Moneer, all of Lima; eight siblings, Ray (Jean) Moneer, Ronald (Elaine) Moneer, Tom (Sara) Moneer, Tarry (Myra) Moneer, Betty King and Mary Jo (Noah) Sherrick, all of Lima, James (Hazel) Moneer, of Elida, and Norma Barnes, of Chicago; and nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Keith Moneer; a sister, Loretta Moneer; and two brothers, William Moneer and Jack Moneer Sr.
A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at First Evangelical and Reformed Church, 320 W. Wayne St.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the church.
