Alice Evelyn Smith, 91, of Cridersville, formerly of Lima, died at 7:35 a.m. Aug. 15, 2010, at Otterbein-Cridersville Retirement Community.
She was born March 27, 1919, in Auglaize County to Fred R. and Helen G. Forman Snider, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 26, 1942, she married William F. Smith, who died Jan. 1, 2004.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of the First Evangelical and Reformed Church, Lima. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Koneta Chapter. She had volunteered 6,000 hours at Lima Memorial Health System and was a dedicated poll worker for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Ellen (James) Burt, of Centerville, and Ann (Jerry) Jenkins, of Huntsville; four grandchildren, Michael (Hilary) Burt, Julie (Adrian) Omondi, Douglas (Rebecca) Jenkins, and Robert Jenkins; six great-grandchildren, Lauren Burt, Elise Burt, David Jenkins, Benjamin Jenkins, Madelyn Jenkins and Brenna Omondi; and two sisters, Eunice Miller and Barbara Hatfield, of Lima.
She was preceded in death by a son, Cullen W. Smith, who died March 12, 1983; and two brothers, William Snider and John Snider.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Otterbein-Cridersville Retirement Center, or the First Evangelical and Reformed Church in Lima.
