Eugene P. Schimmoller

Eugene P. Schimmoller, 80, died at 6:15 p.m. Jan. 28, 2010, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.

He was born Dec. 27, 1929, in Lima to Henry and Marguerite Meyer Schimmoller, who preceded him in death. On June 10, 1952, he married Phyllis Snyder, who survies. On June 13, 1981, he married Janet A. Weissling Inbody, who survives in Pandora.

Mr. Schimmoller retired as a carpenter from Louisiana Pacific, Ottawa. He was a member of Pandora United Methodist Church. He was a member of Ohio Lodge 325 Free & Accepted Masons, where he was secretary for 50 years. He was a member of the Carpenters Union. He had served as a deputy sheriff for Putnam County. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He loved animals, children, the Dallas Cowboys, hunting, camping, fishing and woodworking.

Survivors also include five children, Jerry (Ulfa) Inbody, of Ashland, Ky., Sue Cogley, of McComb, Sherry (Dean) Kuhlman, of Ottawa, B. Scott (Patty) Schimmoller, of Queen Creek, Ariz., and Jane (Jason) Meyer, of Gilboa; and 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Schimmoller; a sister, Evelyn Inbody; a grandson, Justin Meyer; and a daughter-in-law, Cathy Schimmoller.

Services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa. Pastor Mark Hollinger will officiate. Burial will be in Harman Cemetery, with military rites by the Putnam County Honor Guard.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home, where a Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m.
