Lima - Eddie Glenn Sr., 81, died at 8:25 a.m. March 27, 2010, at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born Feb. 10, 1929, in Seale, Ala., to Ed and Mary Watkins Glenn, who preceded him in death. On March 2, 1957, he married Lula M. Alfred, who died March 21, 2003.
Mr. Glenn retired from General Motors Corp. He attended Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 211. He loved fishing and would fish from sun-up to sun-down.
Survivors include six sons, Eddie (Sarah) Glenn Jr., Michael Glenn, Terry Glenn, and John (Marjorie) Glenn, all of Lima, David (Christal) Glenn, of Melbourne, Fla., and Curtis (Mechelle) Glenn, of Clarksville, Tenn.; a daughter, Jessie B. Glenn, of Lima; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph (Ruthie) Glenn, of Lima; and a close friend for many years, John Jackson.
He was preceded in death by a son; three brothers, Robert L. Glenn, Timothy Glenn and Ike Glenn; and six sisters, Lila M. Taylor, Callie Upshaw, Mattie Avery, Evalina Glenn, Sandy Pearl Glenn and Mamie Bush.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert Toney will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jones-Clark Funeral Home. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
