Billie Darlene Hover Geyer

Billie Darlene Hover Geyer, 78, died Nov. 18, 2010, at her home in Severna Park, Md., with her family by her side.

She was born Nov. 15, 1932, to William Harry and Rose Lee Hover, who preceded her in death. On July 3, 1955, at Trinity Methodist Church, she married Manvel Geyer, and he survives in Maryland.

Mrs. Geyer met her husband of 55 years through their mutual involvement in Amil Tellers and Encore Theatre. She taught English at Perry High School. She moved in 1972 with her family to Severna Park. A long-time English teacher in Lima and Maryland, she enjoyed traveling throughout England and the United States with her husband and friends. Her love of books and movies was legendary, and she enjoyed sharing her passions with friends and family. She was an active supporter of her college alma mater, Loyola University, New Orleans.

Survivors also include a daughter, Gretchen Geyer, of Maryland; two sons, Gregory and Eric Geyer, both of Maryland; and two grandchildren, MaryBeth and Bradley Geyer, both of Maryland.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Hover.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

A celebration of her life will be held in the new year.
