Wapakoneta

John H. Weber, 85, formerly of Cridersville, died at 1:10 p.m. Aug. 1, 2010, at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home.

He was born Oct. 2, 1924, in Pusheta Township, Auglaize County, to Joseph and Myrtle Moore Weber, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Weber had been a projectionist and a truck driver, having driven for Kenosha Transport, Columbus & Chicago Trucking, and O.K. Truck Lines. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Wapakoneta. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275, Lima. He had been a member of American Legion Post 96, Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370. He was a graduate of Blume High School, Wapakoneta.

Survivors include a son, Michael D. (Diana J.) Weber, of Kokomo, Ind.; two grandchildren, Michael Scott (Shannon) Weber, of Cleveland and Michelle (Rudy Jr.) Owens, of Indianapolis; four great-grandchildren, Madison and Emme Weber and Alisha and Ashley Owens; and a sister-in-law, Emily Weber, of Wapakoneta.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Talmadge Weber.

Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta. Pastor R.J. Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta, with military rites by VFW Post 1275.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
