Ruth J. VanDemark Neeper

Ruth J. VanDemark Neeper, 88, died at 5 p.m. July 18, 2010, at The Ridge at Shawnee.

She was born May 17, 1922, in Columbus Grove to David Byron and Alma Basinger VanDemark, who preceded her in death. On July 21, 1950, she married Joseph W. Neeper, who died Aug. 22, 2000.

Mrs. Neeper was a 1940 graduate of Columbus Grove High School. She was a homemaker and had worked at Triplett Corp., Bluffton, and Westinghouse Electric Corp., Lima. She was a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church and attended Lima Baptist Temple. She enjoyed reading and ceramics.

Survivors include a daughter, Johanna M. (Steven) Muether, of Celina; three sons, David F. Neeper, of Cridersville, Michael K. (Kimberly) Neeper, of Wapakoneta, and Mark E. Neeper, of Elida; two grandchildren, Nathan (Heather) Neeper and Heather (Jeff) McKenzie, both of Wapakoneta; two great-grandchildren, Jessie James McKenzie and Paige Carolyn McKenzie; two brothers, Paul (Rita) VanDemark, of Holmes Beach, Fla., and William (Gloria Janson) VanDemark, of Cincinnati; five sisters-in-law, Bert Wright, of Wapakoneta, Edna Thornton, of Tromball, Texas, Evelyn Bowman and Jesse Neeper, both of Lima, and Jeanne Neeper, of Los Angeles; and 29 nieces and nephews.

Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Gary Hohman will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
