90th Birthday: Phyllis Conway

LIMA — Phyllis (Hofmann) Conway, of Lima, will celebrate her 90th birthday April 14, 2015. A party was held for her yesterday, April 11, 2015, at Springbrook Gardens.

She was born April 14, 1925, in Lima to Fredrick J. and Eva Chloe LeViness Hofmann. On Dec. 21, 1949, she married Robert S. Conway, and he died July 1, 1987.

Conway has four children, David (Cheryl Counts) Conway, Robin Conway and Scott (Val) Conway, all of Lima and April (Terry Fetzer) of Lake Worth, FL. She has five grandchildren, Colin Conway and Jason Conway, both of Washington, Nichole (Jason) Stapleton and Brittney Conway, both of Lima and Cole Conway, of Toledo. Conway has two great-grandchildren, Kacia and Chico Luna, both of Lima.

She worked at Lima Locomotive Works, Lima Telephone Co. and Woolworths. She is a member of American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary since 1947.

Conway is a graduate of South High School.

She enjoys dancing, big band music, country music and attending the South High School Class of 1945 yearly reunions.
