LIMA — An 11-year-old boy was shot with a BB gun Monday while riding his bicycle.
The incident took place just after 7:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Albert Street in Lima. The boy was shot on the outside of his left hand, Lima Police Chief Kevin Martin said.
The boy’s mother could not be immediately contacted, so by protocol, Lima EMS took the boy to St. Rita’s Medical Center. The mother was later reached and went to the Lima Police Department with her son to follow up with officers.
The suspect, 14, is someone the boy knows, Martin said. The victim and his family had not filed charges as of Tuesday afternoon.
