Alice Lantz Noble, 88, died at 8:25 a.m. Sept. 3, 2010, at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community.
She was born Sept. 27, 1921, in Gomer, to Alpha and Huldah Augsburger Lantz. On June 19, 1941, she married Thomas Robinson, who died in July 1943. On Aug. 17, 1952, she married Norman Noble, who died March 9, 1986.
Mrs. Noble was a 1939 graduate of Sidney High School. She was the business manager of the family farm, had worked as the secretary to the schools superintendent, and had served as office manager for an optometry practice. She was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church in St. Marys, the Shakespeare Club, Salem Grange and St. Marys Rock Club. She enjoyed camping, sewing, gardening, traveling and quilting.
Survivors include three children, Judith (Jack) Haines, of Lima, David (Mary Anne) Noble, of Indianapolis, and Alice (Tom) Bates, of St. Louis; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Melvin (Myra) Lantz, of Columbus, Ind.
She was preceded in death by three siblings, Opal Redinbo, Treva Bidwell and David Lantz.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community, Meyer Community Chapel. The Rev. Carol Sainey will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Otterbein St. Marys.
