Willie R. Collins

Lima - Willie R. Collins, 66, died at 1:25 p.m. May 13, 2010, at Lima Memorial Health System.

He was born March 6, 1944, in Lima to Pat and Carrie Smith Collins, who preceded him in death. On Dec. 30, 1964, he married Pamela M. Bidwell, who survives in Lima.

Mr. Collins was a lifelong Lima resident, who attended Alger High School. He had worked at Coca Cola for several years, before becoming a self-employed real estate investor. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 199, where he had held several offices. He was a member of Pentecostal Tabernacle, Roundhead.

Survivors also include two sons, Tony (Julie) Collins and Loren Collins, both of Lima; a daughter, Melinda (David) Haberman, of Lima; seven grandchildren, Catie, Paige, Grant and Spencer Collins and Chloe, Carlee and Cassie Haberman; three sisters, Barbara Vananatta, Bonnie Johnson and Sandy Concrata, all of Florida; and two brothers, Michael Collins, of North Carolina and Steven Collins, of Florida.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Collins.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Lewis Eastside Chapel. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date.
