
The under 16 Lima Havoc Softball team won the Dayton Pink Ribbon and Findlay Uncle Charlie’s tournaments. The Findlay tourney included teams from Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. Lima Senior’s Tillie Nelson is among the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s 175 student-athletes to receive 2022 NFCA High School Spring All-Region accolades.
The awards honor softball student-athletes from eight (Regions III through X) of the Association’s 10 regions. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region voted on the teams.
Nelson was selected to the Region VIII second team at first base. The region consists of players from Ohio, Virginia and Indiana.

Celina 3, St. Henry 1
COLDWATER — Winning pitcher Dale Secrest and Blayn Aller combined to allow six hits and four walks while striking out three in seven innings as Celina qualified for district play.
Carson Staugler had two hits and Zach Greber had a hit and an RBI also for Celina. Drew Schwieterman had three hits and Hayden Boeckman had a pair of hits for St. Henry.
District pairings
Bath plays Delphos St. John’s at 4 p.m. Wednesday followed by Van Wert taking on host Elida at 6 p.m. in District 5. The losers play at 4 p.m. Thursday with the winners meeting at 6 p.m.
Ottawa-Glandorf faces host Archbold at 5:30 p.m. Thursday followed by Kalida against Napoleon at 7:30 p.m. The losers will meet at 5:30 p.m. Friday and the winners play at 7:30 p.m.
