CLEVELAND (AP) — Police say a 24-year-old man has been fatally shot while driving on a freeway near downtown Cleveland.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the man shot Friday on Interstate 90 as Jamel Greene, of Cleveland. Police say Greene died at a hospital from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Police say a vehicle pulled alongside Green's car and someone inside the vehicle began firing. Greene veered off the freeway and struck a utility pole near Burke Lakefront Airport. A 26-year-old passenger inside Greene's car wasn't injured.
No arrests have been made in the shooting.
Records show Greene was scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court after pleading guilty last month to drug trafficking and drug possession charges.
