Deep tire tracks lead to a heavily damaged vehicle after it was involved in a one-vehicle accident on Agerter Road west of Lima late Friday evening. The vehicle slid off the icy road, struck a utility pole and was engulfed in fire. The motorist was not at the scene when fire and police officers arrived. Jay Sowers - The Lima News

LIMAThe “Expect Anything Car Show” will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at The County Market Trade Center, located on North Cole Street, just south of Robb Avenue.Entry fee is $10 for each vehicle entered in the show. People who wish to enter can sign up as early as 9 a.m. Trophies will be awarded. WESTMINSTER — A medical issue appears to be the cause of a car running into a house near Westminster, on the east side of Allen County.Witnesses saw a car swerving on state Route 117 east before the accident, and there were no skidmarks at the site. The car's air bags did not deploy at the accident scene.The driver of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital.

LIMA — No one was seriously hurt early Tuesday after a student at the University of Northwestern Ohio lost control of his car and crashed into a dorm building, police and school officials said.It all happened shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday at Northwestern Park dorms 23 and 24, according to Stephanie Davis, director of public relations and marketing at UNOH.“The driver, Cody Livengood, is a UNOH student,” Davis said. “He is enrolled in early morning classes at UNOH, which take place from 12 a.m. to 6:30 a.m., and he was running late back to class from a break and lost control of his vehicle.”Livengood's vehicle went up over a sidewalk, through a decorative row of bricks and into the facade of the dorm. Davis said the university had yet to determine a damage estimate.A dozen students — six from each dorm — were displaced after the crash and relocated to different dorms on campus, Davis said.Maj. Chip Protsman, of the Lima Police Department, said Livengood was cited for reckless operation on private property. LIMAAmerican Township Fire Department responded to a car-bicycle collision around 5:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of North Cole Street and Grand Avenue.The bicyclist was taken by ambulance for treatment of injuries. Other details were not available late Friday. The Allen County Sheriff’s Office was investigating.

LIMAA teenager was injured Friday in a rollover crash on Dutch Hollow Road just north of Allentown Road.The 3 p.m. crash happened when the driver, a girl who is under 18, was driving south on Dutch Hollow Road. She went off the road, overcorrected and went back off the right side of the road. She rolled the vehicle and struck a phone pole in the process, said Trooper Jason Derthick of the Lima post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The girl was thrown from the vehicle. She was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening, Derthick said.The girl was issued a citation for failure to control and not wearing a seat belt, Derthick said. She said she fell asleep on her way to work.Derthick refused to release the name of the girl.
