JACKSON CENTER — In an effort to provide employees and dealers with more hands-on experience and more production space, Airstream, Inc., a vehicle manufacturing company, will be expanding its facility later this spring.
The expansion consist of a new 750,000 square-foot facility that will be powered by renewable energy credits, with the project cost estimated at $40 million. The company will also be looking to hire additional associates, according to a news release.
Once the new facility is built, the current 255,000 square-foot facility will be dedicated to manufacturing the company’s motorized touring coaches. This will allow the company to have more production space for starting other product lines.
“We embrace our rich history even as we move into the future,” said Airstream President & CEO Bob Wheeler in a news release. “This new facility will give us the room to build and innovate quality products, all while maintaining the hand-made craftsmanship that makes Airstream an American icon.”
